What Is Administrative Personal Leave?

For situations where FMLA does not apply, many employers choose to have an Administrative Personal Leave policy. This policy will generally look like FMLA, covering a shorter period of time. However, employers have the discretion to design such a policy however they wish.

Keep in mind that the definition of “Administrative Personal Leave” varies by organization and can even have a negative connotation, depending on the circumstances.
