As the team manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of our third-party administration business. You’ll solve complicated problems with employers administering benefits on behalf of their current and former employees. You will use your analytical and communication skills to help clients expand their knowledge of COBRA and pre-tax benefits. As a Sales Manager of an Account Executive Team – Software Sales, you will lead your respective team in driving BerniePortal’s growth, working with them to generate and close new business opportunities. You will be responsible for overseeing pipelines and the team’s daily sales rhythms. This role is accountable for the full team’s prospecting, lead qualification, meetings set, meetings completed, and closed won performance metrics. Within your team, you will also have the benefit of sales development resources for business generation efforts. The ideal candidate is passionate about a SaaS sales career, has experience in the Insurtech/HRtech space, possesses excellent leadership skills, and has a strong drive to help your team close the next sale.
As a Sales Development Representative (SDR) – Software Sales (SaaS), you will play a critical role in driving BerniePortal’s growth by generating new business opportunities. You will be responsible for prospecting, qualifying leads, and setting up meetings for the Account Executive team. The ideal candidate is passionate about sales, possesses excellent communication skills, and has a strong drive to succeed, and the opportunity to grow into an Account Executive position.
BerniePortal has partnered with insurance brokerages across the country to provide our software to employers. The Account Management team is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with BerniePortal’s broker partners. This team is responsible for helping partners get the most value out of their investment in BerniePortal. Team members in this role will need strong verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, and persistence in completing tasks to completion.
The Operations team serves a critical role at Bernard Health in supporting benefit advisors and insurance carriers across the US in implementing BerniePortal, our proprietary HRIS platform, for their employer clients. You’ll build and renew hundreds of employers’ benefits on BerniePortal and use your expertise to ensure that tens of thousands of employees nationwide have easier access to their employer’s benefits. You’ll manage our integrations and enhance our relationships with leading insurance carriers and federal agencies. This job requires effective communication and collaboration among other teams within the organization. You should expect to be challenged everyday to solve problems strategically and provide world-class customer service!
In this role, you’ll primarily be responsible for writing good code. You’ll also need to help our other senior developers determine and enforce development best practices; teaching our junior/intermediate developers what good code looks like and how to write it. Your key success metrics are: minimizing bugs going to production and getting work done on time.

As a Partner Implementation Specialist, you will be responsible for onboarding new broker partners and making sure their first experiences with BerniePortal are successful. We have partnered with employee benefits brokerage firms across the country to distribute BerniePortal to their employer clients. You will have calls and demos with these new partners, as well as with their clients and prospects. You’ll also support them via email and may get to hang out with them in person if they come to our annual users conference, Weekdays with Bernie. It all adds up to building positive, mutually beneficial relationships.
